Population of Erie County

Erie County is divided into 17 political jurisdictions and has a population of 79,551. 

It has three cities:

  • Huron 7,958
  • Sandusky 26,216 The County Seat
  • Vermilion 4,937 (Vermilion lies in both Erie and Lorain Counties. This is the population of the Erie County portion only.)

There are five villages:

  • Bay View 692
  • Berlin Heights 685
  • Castalia 935
  • Kelleys Island 367
  • Milan 1,025

There are nine townships:

  • Berlin 3,017
  • Florence 2,500
  • Groton 1,384
  • Huron 2,572
  • Margaretta 4,662
  • Milan 2,661
  • Oxford 1,096
  • Perkins 12,578
  • Vermilion 4,638
