Welcome to the Erie County Purchasing web page. Purchasing coordinates sealed-bid procedures for the supplies, equipment, and services the County offices and agencies need. Purchasing also accepts competitive bids for contracts for services that county facilities use (e.g. pharmaceuticals for the Erie County Care Facility and Erie County Jail). By securing the highest quality goods and services in the most cost-effective manner and by removing the need to duplicate procedures among various county agencies, we save the taxpayers thousands of dollars a year.
The links on this site will explain in greater detail the County’s purchasing guidelines, which are outlined in the Ohio Revised Code. We also have a list of frequently asked questions that explain bidding procedures more clearly. The FAQ's should be particularly helpful to vendors.
