- The total county budget of $129,037,164 is a 12% decrease from the ending 2008 budget.
- This delivers $1,622 of services to each resident.
- Erie County citizens have agreed to pay $389 of the $1,622 to be spent on each resident in 2009.
- Social Services include the Care Facility (professional nursing home care), M.R.D.D. Board (providing a safety net for the disabled), public assistance, and children services.
- Public utilities include water, sewer, and refuse disposal services.
- Capital expenses include construction projects and financings.
- Only 15 cents of every sales tax dollar and 11 cents of every property tax dollar go to the County budget.
- Census 2010 - Develop action plan for an accurate Countywide Census Count
- The County's sales tax amounts to about 42 cents per day from each resident.
