Safety is of the utmost importance where hunting and shooting is concerned. In order to eliminate accidents and to ensure that all who participate will always remain safe, everyone must adhere to the "Ten Commandments (PDF, 60KB)" of safety gun handling, hunting and shooting.
Ohio Hunter Education Courses
Youth and adults alike can acquire a better understanding of safe and ethical hunting practices by attending a Hunter Education course. Furthermore, some states require non-residents to have their Hunter Education Certification before they can purchase an out-of-state hunting license. To find out whether a course is being offered near you, go to the ODNR Division of Wildlife website for times, dates, and registration information.
