What We Do
The Erie County Engineer's Office maintains county roads, bridges and public drainage systems in the unincorporated parts of Erie County, Ohio. The Engineer's Office also provides engineering services for the nine townships of Erie County.
Meet Your County Engineer
Erie County Engineer John "Jack" D. Farschman, P.E., P.S., is currently serving his third term as county engineer and was re-elected in November 2008 to a fourth term in office. Through 2008, the county engineer has replaced and reconstructed 51 of Erie County's 129 bridges and initiated over 275 miles of resurfacing, widening, and seal coat work on the county road system. He is a graduate of Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
