Celebrate Earth Day With An Extravaganza!
Erie County Solid Waste Management District held the second annual Earth Day Extravaganza on April 18, 2009 at the Sandusky Mall. Over 40 area businesses and government agencies provided displays, informational brochures, give-a-ways and hands on activities to over 1,700 attendees.
The third annual Recycled Art contest was held. There were ten teams of students and adults who participated in the contest. The recycling artist, P.R. "Grizzled Wizard" Miller, presided as judge. The contestants were supplied with recyclables, glue guns and scissors, and had thirty minutes to construct their masterpieces.
Plans for 2010 Earth Day Extravaganza are underway. Bring your students and celebrate Earth Day with us in this special way!!
